About Your Ports... |
SAMANA,
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
White sandy beaches, cool azure waters, balmy Caribbean
nights: the Dominican Republic’s Samana Peninsula is this
and more. Coconut-covered mountains that march down to the
sea, majestic capes that plunge to the ocean’s depths where
vibrant, coral reefs teem with brightly-colored fish and
spiny lobster, crystal-clear streams that wend their way
through the peninsula’s lush arroyos, playful waterfalls
tumbling down the verdant hills, the shrill chatter of
bright green, Dominican parrots, the murmur of the
ever-present trade wind caressing the feathered arms of the
coconut palms, cicadas singing through the starry night, the
melodic strains of bachata, merengue and salsa: the sights
and sounds of Samana are never far away.

ST.
THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
Not all of St. Thomas' treasures are buried. Most of them
are right in the open on this gorgeous island, home of the
infamous Bluebeard's Tower. Whether looking for jewels,
crystal, perfume and fine wines in the shops of Charlotte
Amalie, or soaking up the sun on the incredible beaches,
you'll marvel at the wealth of history on this
treasure-filled paradise. |
TORTOLA,
BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
Sail across the channel on yachts destined for Norman,
Cooper, Salt or Pepper Islands. Here you can swim and
snorkel into underwater caves and among colorful coral
reefs. A scenic island tour takes you up Fort Hill to Cane
Garden Bay where you can relax on spectacular white-sand
beaches. Enjoy the tales of this historic waterway as you
retrace the paths of Christopher Columbus and Sir Frances
Drake. |
GREAT
STIRRUP CAY, BAHAMAS
Great Stirrup Cay was the cruise industry’s first private
island playground. It is part of Bahama’s Berry Island chain
and lies about 50 miles from Nassau. This private retreat
is an unspoiled paradise of powdery white sand and crystal
clear waters. Lush wooded areas add to the beauty of this
setting. As the island is surrounded by a reef, coral and
fish are abundant in the waters of the peaceful cove.
Hammocks, swaying palm trees, lounge chairs lining the beach
and a private mansion complete the landscape. The island
even boasts its own lighthouse.
